Since its founding in 1964 as a Group of 77 Nations (G-77) dedicated "Towards a New Trade Policy for Development", the G-77 of the United Nations has grown in thirty three years to embrace 132 nations in the developing world and China.

In 1987, the Conference of G-77 Chambers of Commerce was established. The Global Management Center of the Chambers' Network represents the interests of this vast group in the World Network of Chambers of Commerce.
